Photographer's Note

The Prambanan temple complex is a very popular spot for tourists. Not without reason, as the buildings are beautiful and graceful. When I visited the complex in the summer of 1995, I started to walk around the central area and found a perspective from which I could see some dramatic clouds in the background that were hiding the sun. This picture was made in the mid-afternoon using two stops under-exposure. As I look at it now, I think it's a pity that I used a wide angle lense that causes the outer buildings to look as if they are topping over. But hey.. you can't have it all.
