`Pulikkali' - Tiger Play:-

`Onam' is a most popular national festival in Kerala.
There are lots of colorful functions and ceremonies during this festival. One of those is called as `pulikkali'.

For this play the actors will paint their body as to
different types of panthers, leopards, tigers etc and putting on masks. This is a traditional play and its history is centuries old. So many expert painters and actors in this field.

This shot of `Pulikkali' is taken from `Thrissur' city,
which is very famous for `Pulikkali' allover in Kerala. There is a contest for this play in Thrissur. The main road in the city (this road is round in shape and surrounding the famous `Vadakunnatha Temple' at the heart of the city) will be closed on the 4th day of onam festival to conduct this show/contest.
10 team will participate in this play. There are 50 to 100 numbers of `Puli's will be in each team. Moreover the huge number of tigers the teams will be accompanied by very beautifully decorated still scenes/shows.
