One of the ancient ghats in Haridwar, the Birla ghat is a pristine and tranquil site, situated adjacent to Vishnu ghat. Situated on the banks of the pious river Ganga, there is a flight of stairs that lead towards the holy water, enabling the devotees to take a dip and absolve their sins, as is believed by many. There are multiple food joints and eateries too at Birla ghat, making it a good place to visit if you wish to escape the maddening crowd of Har ki Pauri. Hello Miguel,
This is quite a spectacular photo for several reasons. It's interesting to watch the pilgrims bathing, and the river looks rather majestic by itself. Even more spectacular may be the many red/orange features and their contrasts with the different green tones of the trees. It's a colourful and culturally interesting photo of high quality and taken from a perfect angle.

Thanks for confirming these bathing places are also known as ghats and the Western Ghats are not just a mountain range. Another good daily life scene with superb sharpness and the additional interest of a nearby temple at left. Tfs!

Bonjour Miguel,

Un très beau point de vue sur la rive. Le niveau de l'eau semble assez haut en cette saison. Mais l'eau ne semble pas assez propre pour un bain. Superbe ligne de fuite.

That's looks as a relatively calm Ghat, compare to the last Ghat picture which had lots of crowd alongside's.

A good view from a nice and high vantage point. It offers a fine overlook of the river and the activity on the quay with also lots of appealing colours, most of all the red/orange and the green parts. The composition is well-divided between the two halves.

Una magnífica composicion con este gatts que esta casi al nivel del rio, la imagen crea una precioso doble diagonal, con las casas al borde del agua, la abundante vegetacion y las torres rojas del templo por encima de las copas de los arboles, forman un encantador conjunto.
Una foto muy bonita, con hermosos colores naturales, muy buena iluminacion y una excelente nitidez.
