Photographer's Note

Madrasa Darul Uloom Mothijhil lost in the middle of nowhere few kilometers from Murshidabad. The Mosque and the palace were built around 1760 by Mir Kashim Nazim of Murshidabad or at least when he was the ruler of the reign. The only historical guide of Murshidabad says:

"Mothijheel is situated 1 1/2 km away from the Murshidabad town in the south.
The son in law of Ali Vardi Khan, Nowajes Mohammed excavated this Jheel and also constructed a precious palatial building beside the jheel for the purpose of
residence of his belowed wife - Ghaseti Begum. This palace was decorated with different varieties of flower-plants and precios marbles. It is heard that Sirajudowla being zealous at the pomp and grandeur of this palace, got another very beautiful palace_Hirajheel constructed on the opposite side of the Baghirathi after incurring huge amount of money.
Here thre is a big room having no doors os windows in it and closed on all the four sides. It is a wonder to the visitors. Some says that huge quantity of wealth belonging to Ghasethi Begum had been kept hidden in it. An englishman who tried to unearth the wealth stealthily by digging, met with fatal end by vomitting blood within a short time"

Is a great joy for the traveler to still find places lost and hidden in the middle of nowhere. The Ulemas and the kids were really kind with me and let me to move around and to shot a lot of pictures.
