Photographer's Note

Here is another reasonably old photo, taken almost exactly 25 years ago.

This is from Khajuraho, a large cluster of Hindu and Jain temples in north-central India, all built roughly 1000 years ago.

I don't remember which temple this is, but my intention was not really to show the temple but rather the persons gathered in front of it. Judging from their clothes and general appearance they were not regular visitors to the temple, but had probably come to ask for alms from the more fortunate people coming to admire the many temples that are collectively regarded by the UNESCO as a world heritage site.

Here is a larger version.

Another view of temples, and some people of course, can be seen in a workshop. I will also show some of the sculptures that make the Khajuraho temples famous.
