They really caught my eye from some distance as the lovely little chappie was waiting for a new owner
One of the most exciting places not to be missed in buzzing Kunming old quarter is Guang Hu awful side street market and its vicinity. It's really a busy market but be warned it's definitely not for animal lovers! aside from local everyday items offered for sale, one can buy almost anything which include cats, snakes, scorpions, turtle, full grown dogs, puppies, monkeys and rodden etc as household pets. Of course some are butchered fresh to be taken home for a good home cooked meal !!!

... but very soon to become a big chap........

My only wish is that the little one will not end up on the dinner table !!

Hello Abmdsudi,
A charming composition featuring this cute little dog and his new owner. I like how you have set it in context with the street seen obliquely in perspective behind. Excellent colours and clarity. It is true we Westerners are a bit squeamish about eating small furry animals, but chacun a son gout.

Hi Abmdsudi,a very nice post dedicated to the dogs with 3 beautiful and different pics. In effect i hope me too that this one and the others too aren't now in a dinner table,it's a bad thing but usual in China as i know. Bonjour Abmdsudi,

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. Car je viens juste d'adopter un petit chat qui nous rend très heureux. J'aime le point de vue qui nous offre aussi la vie dans la rue.

Dogs are our friends, and I cant imagine to buy a friend for me, in my family is a dog brought from an animal shelter, it is a member of the family,

What a great capture of this encounter of the tiny, charming dog and the man sitting at the side of the street. Looking each other straight in the eye, they seem to forget everything around them in the busy street, which forms an excellent backdrop. I like the tilt you added. The light and colours are appealing, well done.

you're correct, as a Canadian, the thought of butchering a dog or cat is so wrong, on so many levels. This is a place I may not want to visit personally, but as for taking photographs, i can see its worth. Its a different culture, different world.

This is a very - provoking scene ! The background is pretty usual with passers-by going about their business.
But the foreground has a deeper meaning : Is this little chap going to live a happy pet’s life, or is he going to end up on a dinner table :-(
It makes one think when more and more people are becoming vegan for the sake of animals and of the planet in general !

I only saw a lost dog during my trip in china. I presume they are removed fast.
nice this one got someone, I hope it have got a home. a touching scene, a special portrait of daily life. amazing.
