Photographer's Note

A street shot in Kashgar Uyghur old quarter, a lively place, full of small shops and many side street markets, when these green sellers immediately drew my eye. This is just the rare kind of thing I used to get apart from the usual types of people in it, the location and feel. The joy here, is seeing what you might capture through sheer accident - this woman's surprise undecided look and mixed expression who might have heard the clicking sound of the shutter partially hidden under my jacket, while other women were totally unaware in full concentration on their task.

I truly enjoy shooting without looking at the view finder when walking pass people with camera preset held at hip level coz, I often get a much more interesting perspective, natural and the quirky angle sometimes.. This way and being a solo photog, I am nearly invisible to those around me. I'm more than happy with the end result here, something I feel worthy but if you ask then they seem obliged to adopt a pose that spoils the whole thing. This has produced mixed results though, but be warned, doing street shot can become addictive! you get what you see even though not all technically beautiful perfect - to TE standards. I love the casual view of everyday life - a little insight and humanity subject that I always love to treasure from my travel photography.

.. glimpsed for a second and then gone forever...
