Photographer's Note

Simple street portrait of a photogenic Tadjik young lady in Alicur village, Taxkorgan. Shy and hint of smile with her distinctive head scarf and peaceful nature who probably had never been photographed by a stranger in a public place.

She readily and pleasantly agreed when I requested for photo shoot; it is wonderful when that happens. It does take time to build up the confidence to ask complete strangers if they mind their a portrait being taken. I tried to put her at ease and relaxed outlook so she didn't deliberately pose and chatting as I considered framing and settings.

Should she refuse, I just offer my thanks and walk on...
simple as that...
