BAMBOO CURTAIN, a photo from Shanghai, East

Photographer's Note

This is building is a cultural center located inside Bund Financial Center complex, inaugurated in 2017 to renovate an area near the Bund and the old port. Curiously this is a building in motion, these bamboo curtains made in bronze are moving at each moment and you can take photos with different aspects of them after hours. In the BG you can see the two highest buildings of the town, in the other side of the river.

Esse é um centro cultural erguido dentro do Bund Financial Center, inaugurado em 2017 para renovar uma área portuária perto do Bund.
Curiosamente a fachada é decorada com uma imensa cortina de bronze imitando bambu e ela se move a cada segundo, depois de horas a posição das peças fica completamente diferente. Ao fundo estão os dois mais altos arranha-céus da cidade, erguidos do outro lado do rio.

Hello Jorge,
This is a fascinating photo thanks to the extremely modern architecture. The skyscrapers are beautiful but they are the kind of buildings we expect to see in China these days, whereas the cultural centre is totally original. This upload would have required two workshops showing that building from other angles and distances, so we could fully understand its design and size and how it changes as you describe it.

Two wonderful examples of modern architecture, but both so very different, the large bamboo building looks amazing with wonderful shapes and patterns and the contrast with the large shiny tower is excellent.

Nice capture of this POV. Both buildings compliment each other. Can you visibly watch the curtain move? or is it in timed increments? Nice image out of China. I hear it is a spectacular adventure.

Jorge, these buildings presented belong to Shanghai architectural revival. These bamboo shape curtains made in bronze are very unsual and original. It is a curiosity. Impressive towers well included in the bg.

Olá, Jorge!

Taí outra coisa bem diferente que você nos mostra aqui (o que não deve faltar na China!), e lendo sua nota fiquei curioso pra ver isso se movendo. Parece também os tubos de um órgão gigante, desses de igreja. Os arranhas-céu ao fundo são também impressionantes, e criam um bonito contraste de cores!
