Photographer's Note

This was shot on a lunch break from seeing temples somewhere between Banteay Samre and Pre Rup.

While his friends were all shouting, "One dollar!", this young postcard merchant used his grin as his sales pitch. It worked: I ended up with postcards and a photo. As soon as he saw me, he mugged for the camera and forgot all about selling his postcards. I decided to shoot from a high angle and keep my natural POV of him - his foreshortened body isolated his face a bit more. I just wish I had a clean BG - not really possible in this instance. These moments are precious and fleeting. I tried to crop the top a bit, but was fighting the kid right behind the subject.

Photo has been reworked in Lightroom:
Exposure increased, highlights brought back down, Fill added, contrast increased slightly and some sharpening.
