Photographer's Note

Imagine just waking up in the morning and opening your tent...

Jimilangtsho is an isolated lake at about 4000 meters on the Druk Path Trek between Timphu and Paro. It is well known for its giant trouts, which were introduced in the 1970s.

Jimilangtsho means "Sand Ox Lake". The legend is that, in the past, a bull emerged from the lake and joined the cattle of a family that used the area as a summer grazing ground.

It is a very pleasant camping spot that you can reach on a trail climbing through rhododendrons forests. Doing it in spring when all the rhododendrons are in bloom is a wonderful unforgettable experience.
