Photographer's Note

I was camped at the ruins of Jangothang, three days walk from the nearest road at the base of Bhutan's second largest peak: Jhomolhari. My first morning at the site dawned foggy, but as the sun rose and slowly burned off the fog it lit up the mountains in beautiful warm, white light. I walked up to the ruins of the old fortress where hundreds of prayer flags waved in the wind. The flags were translucent and i was able to frame the mountain through the flags themselves. The mist was still burning off, creating a hazy dreamlike setting. Quite a morning...
