Photographer's Note

This picture shows the main road between Kabale and Kisoro just before entering Kisoro, which heads further down to the border to Ruanda.

Kisoro is located in the southwestern corner of Uganda and is framed by some of the Volcanos, that are part of the Virunga chain. There are numerous volcanos in this region here and they are located in Ruanda, DR. Congo and Uganda.

On this picture you can see the Mt. Muhavura (4127m) and the little neighbor is the Mt. Gahinga (3474m), both are currently inactive. Each of them can get climbed during a daytrip.

We chose the little one, but still that was an amazing hike. The vegetation on top is just breathtaking. I'll certainly post a picture of that later.

By the way, the Virunga volcanos are home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
