Ksar Hadada or Ksar Ksar Tunisia Haddada is located in the south, five miles Ghomrassen and twenty miles Tataouine.
Restored part of the Ksar dominated by the mosque voisineLe climate is semi-arid - the Sahara is a dozen miles - and the rain is very rare but very strong when it makes its appearance. Temperatures can reach 50 ° C during the day in summer and drop to 0 ° C overnight in winter.
Ksar Haddada that name because its founder was named Brahim El Haddad [ref. required] (Haddad means "blacksmith" in Arabic). According to village elders, it would be a native of Libya today.
A discovery of dinosaur fossils was made in the village, not far from the local football pitch.
A mosque was built there in 1950. Ksar is now part of a hotel where tourists stop. A portion was used by director George Lucas in the movie Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, to create the village of Mos Espa, on the planet Tatooine, Anakin Skywalker's birthplace.
The local economy is mainly based on olive cultivation and breeding of goats or sheep. Most people no longer live there and come back only during the holidays, this exodus is caused by a lack of jobs.
