Photographer's Note
After I posted the photo of the shadow of a window from Sidi Bou Said, someone asked me to see something more concrete from this village, famous for being totally white and blue. So I decided to show the classic postcard with a sea view, a photo that everyone makes when they visit this village, while in the WS you can see a hidden courtyard that surely appears on TE for the first time. The city takes its name from a Muslim religious figure who lived in this city, Abou Said ibn Khalef ibn Yahia Ettamini el Beji (before the latter's arrival it was called Jabal el-Menar).
The city is an interesting tourist attraction, known for the intense use of blue and white colors throughout the city. Between the 12th and 13th centuries A.D. Abou Said ibn Khalef ibn Yahia Ettamini el Beji arrived in the village of Jabal el-Menar and built a sanctuary there. After his death in 1231, he was buried there. In the XVIII century the Turkish governors of Tunis and wealthy citizens built numerous residences there.
During the twenties of the twentieth century, Rodolphe d´Erlanger applied the white-blue theme throughout the city. Sidi Bou Said still has the reputation of a city of artists.
SOLO BIANCO E BLU

Ciao Luciano
This looks like a pleasant place to live overlooking the blue Mediterranean Sea. Good sharpness and the style of architecture looks almost Greek in blue and white. Tfs!

Bonjour, cher ami Luciano,

Hello Luciano,
A great view of those houses in front of the wide, calm sea. The predominant white and blue colours are wonderful and nicely brought out by the sunlight. I like the diagonal line that cuts across the centre. Well captured.

Ciao Caro Luciano,
I was immediately attracted by the fine composition of your Tunis scene.
Everything is neatly in the right place, with colours and details that can't fail to attract.
The blue and white f/g is a natural link with the blue and white of the b/g.
Lovely!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Luciano,
This is a very nice photo from Gree... ooops, you are still in Tunisia! ;-)
Indeed it looks like at least the right building is used by artists. They have a fantastic view of the sea and can also enjoy some green surroundings. The photo is well composed and technically superb. The courtyard in the WS is also very nice, and I suppose you have checked carefully that it was never before on TE.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Luciano,

Ciao caro Luciano,
As soon as I saw your thumbnail and before I read your note or even the location of this photograph, I immediately thought of Oia or any other part of Santorini because of the perfect juxtaposition of pure white and deep blues.
Your workshop photograph shows a courtyard which, as you say, is probably not seen on TE: it appears a pleasant enough courtyard but, on the other hand, your main photograph is an absolute jewel, perfectly and pleasingly composed and taken in the most lovely light and with gloriously rich colours.
I love how the light plays so gently on that central dome and how the tree beside it just kisses the distant horizon while the little group of people in the foreground shade add life. Perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
A fine note too.
Beautiful!
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend,
John.

Ciao Luciano,

Luciano, Sidi Bou Said was a great memory during my Tunisian trip. These white and blue houses overlook the Mediterranean sea, they are typical of this city. The bougainvillea flowers add vivid colors to the picture. Fine colors, good image quality, instructive photo note, regards.

With that classic blue and white you could be mistaken for being on a Greek island. Good composition and POV. Great colour and sharpness (per usual).

Ciao Luciano,
what a beautiful composition here. The white and blue theme is quite apparent.
From an elevated perspective you have managed to looked down into a courtyard.
Great setting near the coast and the palm tree of course adds a fantastic decorative touch as well.
Beautiful work,

Hello Luciano
At first I would think that this is a Greek village with the white houses and the characteristic blue parts. But after your enlightening text, I started looking at the details better and discovered the differences.
Excellent presentation

Ciao Luciano,
White and blue used on both sides of the Mediterranean, though it is not Greece on this one.
Found a good spot to include the seascape and the small alley.
Wonderful colors under bright light.
Buona serata,

Hi Luciano.
Wonderful composition with that diagonal that form the buildings and the blue of the sea and sky, both houses are such a white delight and the blue in windows and doors, palm tree, trees and bouganvilla create a set of great beauty.
A fantastic photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.
Well done .. I love it.
Enjoy the weekend.
Very best regards.
