Photographer's Note
The sun is shining but the sky is lead grey; the sea is wild and silver.
And red is the sand of the beaches of Togo; no tourists here, not a single one.
Sometimes you find a photo in your archives and you ask yourself: why didn't I saw the quality of this one before?
A little return to the tropics before I set myself cycling the little villages arounf Amsterdam.

Hello Gerrit,
Yes I have also had that experience of suddenly finding a srangely overlooked picture. I like this one very much, so I understand your feelings. It's a really nice composition, especially with the little boy walking alone to the right, just safely out of reach for the waves. The red African soil has created an attractive beach, whose colour matches the dark green vegetation and the grey sky and sea very nicely. I have a feeling that most beaches along the Bay of Guinea could be rather dangerous because of very heavy waves and strong currents.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Gerrit!
Silver sea and an orange beach, not a bad combination! Togo, sounds an exotic and not your usual destination. If I may ask, what on earth were you doing here? I guess i would love to visit this place sometime, looks interesting! TFS!

Bonjour Gerrit
Un bon cliché avec le vent qui semble balayer les arbres et la mer qui part à l'assaut du sable.
Bravo et bonne fin de journée.

Hello Gerrit,
fascinating this sandy beach with only the natives to enjoy the beauty of the sea and the Nature.
I like to see the huge waves that splashed on the sandy beach from the fierce winds, as the beauty of the image.
Have a good afternoon,danos

Bonsoir, cher ami Gerrit,
Très belle image sortie tout droit d'un rêve. La beauté sauvage de l'ensemble est magnifiquement mise en valeur.
Les personnages ajoutent du dynamisme à la scène.

Hi Gerrit,
yes you are right. I have also found photos in my hardisc, taken many years ago but without any interestuntil now. Today i can see the same photos who only needs a little bit PP with photoshop to become usable, isn`t that strange?
Anyhow, your photo here from Togo is very dramatic. I love the red beach and the water mist from the powerful ocean who spraying the palm tress.
And no tourists.. a perfect future vacation spot for me, thanks for the tips!
Have a nice evening.

Hi Gerrit,
the scene is perfectly framed with beautiful and vivid colors, the day looks very moist and with a sea not recommended for swimming, very sharp and the depth...nice one...
have a good day...

Hello Gerrit,
I like the sea mist/spray and the wind blown trees. The water has a lovely silvery colour and I enjoy the watery pattern on the red coloured sand. The few figures on the beach are very well placed.
A beautiful place that has been very photographed by you - TFS.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Gerrit,
A good capture of this almost deserted beach. I like the saturated colours of the sand and the juxtaposition between the lone boy and the little group at the far end. Strange eerie atmosphere.

Hi Gerrit,
the atmosphere that you have caught in this scene is very special, because of the reddish tones of the beach, the silvering of the sea, the green one of the palms and the leaden sky, which they provide a nice chromatic contrast to the composition.
The achievement of the image is very good.
A beautiful work, my friend.
Best regards,
Josep
