Photographer's Note

This is the first photo I have processed and posted from my phone as I am at a political conference in Stavanger, so please excuse me if the quality is poor.

This photo was taken when arriving in Swaziland's largest city, Manzini. And yes, like every other reasonably sized town in the region, there was a Kentucky Fried Chicken to define the city center. The bus station of Manzini lies in the middle of the marketplace, the busiest spot in town, right down this street.

Swaziland's flag (in my opinion the ugliest in the world) shows a shield with whites and black symbols meant to symbolize that whites and blacks live in peace. I find it amusing as I didn't see a single white person there, so it's like saying they live peacefully together in Iceland too. I will say life in Swaziland seems quiet and peaceful though. They would most certainly live in peace no matter how many whites. As I approached Manzini I saw a church and a mosque almost next to eachother and this seems to represent the people. Diversity. I often like to compare the countries I've been to when it comes to nature and people. Swaziland had an alright nature, but the people tops my list for sure.
