Photographer's Note

As we walked up the hill outside Axum, this old chap came bounding over the fields (with surprising agility for his age) to open up the hut housing an interesting 4th century pillar, bearing inscriptions in Sabaean, Ge’ez and Greek script.
Of course, you can't see his red eyes (and yellow teeth) here - for that you'll have to look at the colour version in the workshop.
I still prefer the B&W version though.
