Photographer's Note

Two young boys selling chewing gum on the ferry boat crossing over the Suez Canal at Al Qantara. About 170km north of Cairo. At the time the main northern crossing between Egypt in Africa and the Sinai Peninsula - the land-bridge to Asia.

You could of course take the more-recently built bridge over the Suez.

The route is probably faster, but you might not get to have a chat with the guys who work the ferrys, as well as the sellers along the way. That is, if they are still there now that there is a far quicker route to get to Sinai.
