Photographer's Note
More statues beside the Hypostyle Hall in Karnak, the largest of its type in the world. I like the contrast between the stumps of feet at right and the reasonably complete statue at left.

Hello Chris,
An exquisite photo, well lit and distinct clarity of the ancient monuments in Karnak.
Scaled by the yellow rods of the fence, one can appreciate the size of the statue and other objects.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Chris, it was a very bright sunny day and you have managed the light so well, no burnt out spots anywhere.
So much to enjoy in this scene, excellent sharp quality.
Some of the stones on the r/h/s looks decidedly dangerous, as if it will fall anytime.
We have to marvel at the skill of the early Egyptians carving these statues etc.,
Regards Jean.

Bonsoir Chris,
Le palmier aide au cadrage de la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de la statue. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hello Chris,
The incredible sharpness makes the ancient sculptures stand out so fantastically against the blue sky. The tall palm tree is a wonderful contrast with all the old stone parts too. Excellent vertical composition.

Hello Chris,
The details of your photograph are very well collected so that we can even get a feeling for the rough edges of the broken statues.
The main statue is well placed and, though there are no figures to completely nail the sense of scale, the adjacent tree works well in that respect.
I love to see such ancient remains and cannot help marvelling at the skill of these craftsmen.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Chris,
J'aime beaucoup suivre tes traces en Égypte. Tu as su profiter du très beau temps ainsi que d'une lumière forte qui fait disparaître toutes les ombres. Belle contre plongée qui donne de l'ampleur à l'ensemble.
Amicalement

Hi Chris,
I had the satisfaction to visit Karnak as well but it was with an organized tour so the time on site was limited and there were crowds of people around so no chance for a decent photo. So I look with an admiration at yours here captured at a great light and with no tourists around.
Very impressive place, great reportage,
M

looks like someone put the huge sculpture in the ground and in the fall it broke the face. nice details of the local artwork and architecture. we can see artwork from ancient egypt in any country, but to be in the country should be amazing.

Hello Chris,
These are very impressive artifacts. Let's hope that extremists do not have a chance to get near them, as they did in Syria & Iraq.
Regards,
MT
