Photographer's Note

This heavily loaded truck is just one of the many that cross the Sahara desert from central Africa to the mediterranean coast. This one was still loading merchandise, but when it left the village there were over thirty people sitting on top the hughe pile. It was quite a sight to see the immense truck, loaded way over any reasonable limit, with people looming down from that height disappear in the sandy distance. I could not restrain regretting the vast difference between my world and theirs, the chasm of poverty that divides us. We are privileged people, and we should never forget that when we try to interpret their feelings or their attitude towards the reality that surrounds them.
