Great holmertz 2019-07-11 2:34

Hello Bev,
The WS photo is nice, but if you don't object too strongly I think the main photo is more beautiful. ;-) It's a very attractive courtyard with pretty buildings captured in a very nice light. I learned indirectly two new English expressions from the note. Or did I? I had never heard of "rain splashes" or "sitting dog windows" and all I find when searching Google are photos of rain dropping heavily on the ground and cute dogs sitting in windows. I guess the expressions refer to the designs of this building, but they are probably unknown to most non English speaking members. ;-)
Kind regards,

Thank you for your thoughtful critique, Gert.

The 'rain splashes' might be a colloquialism, officially, they are called rain hoods; sitting dogs is a term we've used for a long time, probably picked up in France where they are called ' chien assis fenetres'.

Best wishes,
