Hello John -

Well done using the archway to frame the abbey's chapel towers. This image is well exposed with nice detail in the shadows and perfect light management elsewhere. Is the image slightly skewed or is it an optical illusion? Well done!

Thank you for sharing.

Hi John,
As a novice with these types of shots, I still struggle with alignment and the "skewered" look. In order for there not to appear a mis-alignment with the foreground arch, it appears as if there is a slight tilt to the tower in the distance, though when I measured for it, it seemed okay - but try to find a horizon line here! Given the distortion of facades obtained with wide angle lenses used for architectural scenes, I am not sure what is exactly acceptable in this genre. In the end, I found it more artistically pleasing to align the foreground arches and spacing and not worry about the slight tilt of the tower...Any further thoughts are very much welcome. Cheers.
