With the present policy of that site I'm afraid it wouldn't be possible, it doesn't accept new members...

nwoehl took a break, s10001in, Designsoul, louisafonso, nerve, homerhomer, Prezntime, Darren M are all on Photoholic.

Maybe we all end up going somewhere else, meeting old friends, move on, meeting more friends and more older friends . . . nomads from the dead photo society.

TE needs Adam back,
What else can we wish for X-mas?

Photoholic is now closed for new members. I guess they need more bandwith :)
And looking at the site,
it resembles a lot with TE;
points ("The photos do not exactly get points as such"), the FAQ, the GTU (compare with TOS), it's in French and English . . . . and above all, no names who started it, no names, but maybe the two first two members are a clue . . . fixed and flydragon.
fixed was/is also a member on TE.

Anybody else who wants to start a new trekbaby?
We need to come up with another name for TOS/GTU and a good undertitle, together with the new name. The rest is more or less clear :)

Nicolas,
I'd rather have my old X700 back,
or an F1,
if I'm allowed an old Nomad's dream.

From what I understand, photoholic is more "project orientated" and is not about learning about the world. So if you want to do a serie on pinapple in your kitchen, it seems to be OK there and it wouldn't on TE.
I guess this is why many street-photographers have moved there. TE is not a site for street photography.
No need to be upset about it.

I'm a cold and high-tech person, 40D would do me, well, a F1 too actually ;-)

TE is not a site for street photography

???????????????????????????????

TE could fit street photography, in my humble opinion. Street photography is the "World" too. People is the world too! No?

I see where you're coming from, but much of street photography doesn't tell you/us much about the world.
Tell me what this photo tells you about London for exemple: http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=5&p=510873
I like this photo very much, but it's not a TE photo, at least from my POV...
I think that a close up of a window, or a door, or some rust on a chain has nothing to do with TE's concept either.

Only SOME street photo is suitable for TE, maybe that some people (including me) feel restricted by the TOS of TE. I'm not saying that the TOS should be changed, just saying that "il faut de tout pour faire un monde". ;-)

Have a look at the Seagulls here, it's unbelievable what you can learn from them :)

So, after 5 years of TE, what is TE? ;)

Cold and High-tech? With an F1? film?
For me it's more the weight and the memories.
I wasn't allowed to use it:) (from my dad)
I could only use the FT. Still, although the F1 has the name (and for a good reason), the FT was a good cam also, it just needed more time to handle.
I have the feeling the ultimate digi-cam still has to come along, if only they would make it from metal and not plastic. Either that or a brick.
I'm at my best with light, long exposures and heavy metal.
