Great AnimeshRay 2008-10-22 8:05

Wow Evren! A lovely shot of nightfall at the docks. Marvelous color and tonality. Your composition is brilliant and so is the color rendition. The transition from still-bright blue-purple sky on the right to the darkening sky at the left, with delicious 'grain', is fascinating. Love this one.

PS: I am thinking of going for a 5D (or a D300, for which I already have a 28/2 and 105/2.5). Can't decide. What lens was this one taken with?

Default To AnimeshRay: Mr. Ray, hi!

thx a lot for your comments as always!

this lens here was 35L f/1.4. its my best Canon L lens i think.. (its a bit expensive though.. nowadays, its around 1.300 dollars i guess.)

Sandy (remember my partner?) has a D300 but she doesnt like the noise over 800 ISO in the camera so shes gonna shift to D700 soon.. if i were you i would go for a FF camera which is either 5D or D700. I tried D700 and its an excellent one in low light..(a little bit better than 5D i would confess. ;) since you have manual nikkon lenses you can also use those with their real capacity instead of a 42mm and 158mm on a cropped sensor as in D300). even if D700 is on a bit expensive side, i wouldnt shift to Canon if i were you, cuze you'll need good lenses on it too, so they would add up on your final cost..

tc.

btw, Raghu Rai bought a D700 from the gray market recently in Delhi, so it must be a good one! ;O)
