Default Width of Crescent -- Long Exposure

Ronners-- The crescent was indeed thin that night (2nd day past New Moon). However, my long exposure captured the motion of the moon, which was actually moving across the sky quite fast. Believe it or not, I only got a few shots off between when it dropped below the upper cloud and when it passed behind the lower cloud and into oblivion.

Anyway, the motion of the moon "stretched" the crescent's width, giving it the appearance of larger size. In retrospect, I should have used a wider aperature and shorter exposure time to minimize this. Live and learn...

That's interesting Sam. I didn't realise that the moon would have moved so much in... 10 seconds ? Great job here nonetheless - I'm glad somebody around here captured it ;)
