Great SnapRJW 2013-08-15 9:30

This type of shot is something I admire Carlos, I would dearly like to hone my skills in this genre but tend to be all fingers and thumbs and very slow to react. Bravo for such fine management, I think your lens was just fine and the shot is beautifully balanced. BTW, is the angel in the process of undressing? (heaven forbid!) or dressing? (the mind boggles!). Warm regards Rosemary

Dear Russ,
You made me open my Canon's Zoom Browser Ex, to check your words. True!
Great critic, bang on target, much appreciated.
I clicked a few shots that night, as I was quite late in reaching there. I clicked this shot with AI Servo, a mode used for clicking the athletes so that there is no blur. Don't remember well, but may be I was following the kid in the center and when the kids changed position, and there was a rhythm in the composition, I had to click. Other wise they might turn their back, or the other photographers might creep in.
Its a matter of split seconds and you have to trust your fingers to press the shutter at the desired point.

f/5, .........wish I could use f/10 , but then the result could be a a total black rectangle and nothing else.

This experience has made me save for the 70-200mm L series IS-II lens, one of the best lens on the planet, ideal for low light conditions.

Thanks for the great observation.
