As per my knowledge
* Don't trust signatures and marks. Some famous sculptors had their own foundries and used no marks. * French law allows an artist to make only twelve copies and each must be numbered. If more than twelve bronze casts are made, they must be marked "reproduction". * Beware of 19th century copies of Renaissance bronzes. They have age on them and may have originally been sold as copies, but today are being passed off as real. Sorry to say that but I can't open this link in my system .I am eager to saw this link. |
