Great macjake 2020-05-18 12:06

Hi Pale Stranger
its good to be back on TE after being away for 2 weeks.
hard to choose only 1 photo...but I chose this one.
Glad to hear they renamed this country Burkina Faso...hahaha.
what are they doing with that drum in the bg? anything is a toy I guess :) so much going on here...the flambouant dress the lady is wearing, the shyness of the tall boy, the laughter and extroverted behaviour of the boy in red pants, the drum, the blue building..makes me wonder what it'd be like to visit here today. Is it just as peaceful? not sure. great post, 100% your style. cheers

Default To macjake: peaceful?

Thanks Craig,
Good to see you back. I think most people in this area are just as nice as before, but the country isn't as safe as it used to. There have been a number of Al-Qaeda attacks in Ouagadougou and the northern border areas in recent years, and many people have been killed. The whole region has been destabilized by terrorists and the war in neighbouring Mali. It's really too bad. This has become a no-go zone.
Keep well,
