Great tyro 2020-05-19 7:25

Hello Bev,

A very finr photograph from your archives - though just from last year!

This is a splendid building, especially if we ignore the ground floor with the modern fast food outlet, and you've captured it in lovely light and with fine rich colours and excellent sharpness. I shouldn't worry too much about the fellow "photo bombing" your picture in the bottom left - though he might have had the decency to at least smile!

An interesting note about the history of this lovely building too.

Wonderful!

You take care and stay safe!

Kind Regards,

John.

P.S. I've had a look on Google maps and this place is very easy to see - and I think you might have got an even nicer photograph if you had moved a very short distance to your left and taken this building at its "corner" on Ship Street - see here: 51.753531, -1.258629 and have a look around with the little yellow man. (:o)

Thanks, John,for your thoughtful critique.
You are probably right about a better position but when you are socialising and having interesting conversations, you don't necessarily see the captivating features until you're upon them!
I took a photograph, close by this, of the Saxon Tower, which I will post next.
It was so busy, just there, that I accepted that people would be in the line of fire.
Maybe what has been recorded is the popularity of Oxford as well as the interesting buildings.

Morse and Lewis play a big part in the popularity of the city.
I know we were following 'The Morse Trail' when I took these photographs.

Keep safe, regards, Bev
