Hello Bev,
The long side of the villa makes me think of Rome, but the gable looks very much at home in Shropshire. I get the impression the builders of this villa were free to use their own imagination to some extent, which made them include the local medieval half timbered construction. Maybe Rome was actually built in 1.500 years? ;-)
This is certainly the most attractive photo, but the real Roman wall in WS #1 is more exciting. It shows history which you can feel with your own hands.

Thanks for your thoughtful critique, Gert.

Yes, I liked the view of the original Roman wall but the villa seemed a more informative starting point.
Still, with w/s, people can always make their own choices.
