Great edge 2010-03-01 20:16

Hello Lois, Very interesting shot with the animal gazing at the other people gazing back. Maybe a stare down. I believe these animals are very high on the intelligence curve, so your ending comment is likely factual. I was unaware of the age of this zoo, and always thought that the zoo in Vienna was the oldest. Interesting that one goes to Paris and visits the zoo. I like the shot though and an interesting theme as well. Regards, Roger.

Smile To edge: Non-tourist Paris

Hi Roger,
Thanks for your thoughts on this photo. I wondered if anyone would critique it. It's always hard to tell what will catch someone's eye.

I've visited Paris 14 or 15 times now, at first on business, now, at least once a year, for pleasure. This makes taking photos a little challenging as it either is a famous view seen and photographed a million times (and is on postcards, too) or I've taken a photo of it before. I found le Jardin des Plantes four years ago while just walking around the 5th Arrondissement. I like zoos, this is where the Parisians take their families, and there is always something different and interesting going on. Solves my problem very nicely. And then there is this photo, also from le Jardin.
