Hello Jean Gorgeous! It's certainly the three primary colours that make this image work so well. The mimosa against the blue sky make a good shot, but the red lighthouse peeking through the gap in the trees lift this to another level. Nice one. Regards Will

Hello Bev Yes I remember Gwin Zegal well from a holiday about 10 years ago. Not a place I'd fancy leaving my boat mind you! I love the composition, with the hill beyond the harbour and the low viewpoint making the pole appear very tall. If I remember rightly, there's a low breakwater over to the left; other than that, no real protection from big westerlies... Regards Will

Hello John This photograph brings back some happy memories of a shared visit with you and others in this neck of the woods. Can't say I remember the footbridge, but the general landscape looks very familiar. Lovely soft light, and classic compositional sense! Is that parkland over on the opposite bank? Regards Will

Hello Silvio I suppose it's the weather that makes this photograph stand out. That sky, and the wet pavements that look almost like a lake. But you had wisely taken shelter in an arcade, which has also afforded you a good archway-frame. Glad you didn't put your camera down when the rain started! Regards Will

Hello Krzysztof Well I could hardly pass over a photograph of a brewery! Mind you, I like craft beer, and I suspect this "beer factory" produces a very pleasant but standard, bland middle of the road lager. I thought from the thumbnail that the image was in black and white: must be all that stainless steel! I presume you sampled the wares on your way out? Good sense of depth with all those horizontals converging on the vanishing point. Regards Will

Hello Kasia Well, this is a special image, for its quality and rarity value. I'm surprised you were allowed (and had the brass neck!) to photograph such a ceremony, but I'm glad you did. As you say, the "Lady in Red" (crap song I'm afraid) adds a vital note to the image, and to the image's story. The low-key treatment adds hugely to the atmosphere, and is of course thoroughly appropriate. A fine piece of documentary photography. Kind regards Will

Hello Gy I don't remember the Budapest Eye: maybe it wasn't there when we visited a couple of years ago. Beautiful, subtle gradations of grey tones here, and a slightly edgy composition which I like: most would have tried to include the whole of the Big Wheel. We know better... Regards Will
